Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) is the safest and most efficient building methodology for coastal construction. It offers the highest R Rating, highest sound proofing, the wind rating is the highest as well. Beyond that ICF is mold and mildew as well as termite resistant.
The construction consists of stacking the forms while running rod iron bars both horizontally and vertical prior to pouring the forms with solid concrete. This method insures longevity and lower maintenance. During natural disasters your home is constructed in a manner that is superior to all others built in conventional frame or hollow celled concrete blocks. Conventional frame homes do not stand well in hurricanes. Concrete hollow cell block homes are not ideal for the soil in Florida and often settle with step cracks and do not provide much for insulation from outside tempatures or sounds.
